Xiaomi isn’t holding back this year—and the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5 is proof of that. While we were expecting a low-key announcement, Xiaomi took a different route, giving us a generous sneak peek during a nearly three-hour showcase filled with upcoming launches. And yes, the new Pad 7S Pro 12.5 got plenty of spotlight.
The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5 will be the second device to feature Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O1 chipset, following its recent debut in the Pad 7 Ultra. Despite its slightly more compact form factor, the tablet will still support 120W fast charging, just like the 14-inch model. However, the battery capacity has been slightly reduced to 10,610mAh, down from 12,000mAh on the Ultra.
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, measures 5.8 mm in thickness, making it slightly bulkier than the Pad 7 Ultra’s 5.1 mm. Weight-wise, it tips the scale at 576 grams, which is just about 5% lighter than its larger sibling.
The 12.5-inch display promises to be a visual treat, offering a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3.2K resolution. Xiaomi also revealed an optional “nano-soft light” finish, aimed at reducing glare and eye strain. For photography and video calls, the tablet is equipped with a 32MP front camera and a 50MP rear shooter, which are quite impressive specs for a tablet.
Xiaomi plans to release the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, in four color options: Purple, Black, Cambrian Gray, and Titanium. The device will also support a new accessory that resembles Apple’s Magic Keyboard, bringing enhanced productivity for power users. However, neither the exact launch date for the tablet nor its accessories has been officially confirmed yet.
With premium specs, high-speed charging, and a productivity-focused accessory lineup, the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5 is shaping up to be a compelling mid-size tablet for both casual users and professionals. We’ll keep an eye out for the official release date and pricing details as Xiaomi gets closer to launch.
