If you’ve been following Android flagships lately, you already know one thing: 2026’s biggest war isn’t performance — it’s camera power. This year, the most intense imaging battle is happening between two major “factory” giants. One brand is pushing an insane five-camera setup with dual 200MP sensors, while the other has gone for a more balanced but still aggressive triple-camera system with dual 200MP large sensors. Either way, both brands are clearly aiming to become the ultimate camera phone king.
Interestingly, rumors about extreme camera experiments have been floating around since last year. In fact, reports suggested that vivo’s X300 Ultra had tested a crazy triple 200MP camera setup in its early lab stage. But as expected, vivo didn’t fully commit to that madness and instead went with a safer configuration — the dual 200MP setup we’re likely to see in the final product.

But just when it felt like dual 200MP was the maximum limit, a fresh leak has thrown a new twist into the story. On February 10, popular tipster Digital Chat Station posted that a manufacturer is currently testing a next-gen ultra flagship with three 100MP-class lenses, including the expected 200MP main and 200MP telephoto, plus something even more surprising — a 100MP-class front camera using a custom small-pixel sensor. That’s the kind of spec you don’t see every day, especially for a selfie camera.
For anyone who hasn’t been tracking it, the Oppo Find X10 Ultra is rumored to pack a massive 6.85-inch 2K flat display, with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and even a 1-nit ultra-low brightness mode for night use. OPPO is also expected to stick with a premium 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is exactly what you’d expect from a true ultra flagship.
On the performance side, it’s pretty straightforward. The phone is said to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, paired with a huge Glacier Battery around 8000mAh. That battery number alone is enough to make most current flagships look outdated, and it also hints that OPPO is aiming for a device that dominates both raw power and endurance.
But the real spotlight is still on the OPPO Find X10 Ultra camera setup. Earlier leaks already suggested that the entire Find X10 series is experimenting with a dual 200MP camera system, but the Ultra model apparently wants to take it even further. Instead of stopping at two high-resolution sensors, OPPO seems to be pushing for even better resolution and color accuracy in its mid-range and telephoto camera stack — basically turning the Ultra into a full-blown imaging monster.
Even more interesting is the claim about the front camera. If OPPO really goes with a 100MP-class selfie sensor, it would be one of the most extreme selfie camera upgrades we’ve ever seen on a flagship phone. And that’s not the only experiment happening. To compete more directly with Apple, OPPO is also rumored to be testing a square sensor design, similar to what’s expected in the iPhone 17 series, likely to improve framing and consistency in video.
Overall, it’s clear that next year’s flagship battle won’t be calm at all. If these leaks are even half true, the OPPO Find X10 Ultra could end up being one of the most overpowered camera phones ever made — and it also suggests that the imaging war in 2026 might be even crazier than what we’re seeing right now.
