Lenovo AI Tablet Legion Y700 officially announced: 8.8-inch 165Hz screen and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 leaked

Lenovo has officially announced its new AI tablet, the Lenovo Legion Y700, and this time the company is clearly targeting gamers who want a powerful mini tablet with a fast display. Compared to the older Y700 models, Lenovo is using newer screen technology and stronger hardware, making this 2026 version look like a serious upgrade for gaming and daily performance.

The biggest highlight of the Lenovo Legion Y700 is its 8.8-inch “Hunt Speed” e-sports LCD screen. It comes with a sharp 3040×1904 (3K) resolution, around 408 PPI, and an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling and gaming feel noticeably smoother. Lenovo has also added a very high touch response system, including a 2640Hz instant sampling rate and 480Hz multi-touch sampling rate, which means the tablet should respond faster during fast-paced FPS and MOBA games

Lenovo claims the screen can reach around 800 nits peak brightness, supports DCI-P3 wide color, and offers 12-bit color depth, making it good not only for gaming but also for watching videos and content. The display has also passed TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and smooth touch performance, which is a nice plus for users who spend long hours on the screen.

Along with the official announcement, a tech blogger named @Digital Idle Talk Station has also leaked more details about the upcoming 2026 engineering model. According to the leak, the new Lenovo Legion Y700 may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5, paired with a battery close to 9000mAh, and it could feature a 50MP single rear camera along with an RGB ring light on the back. The tablet is expected to launch in Black and White color options, and it may be offered in high-end configurations like 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and even 24GB+1TB.

The leak also suggests the tablet will support 68W fast charging and weigh around 360 grams, which seems reasonable for a compact tablet with a large battery. Lenovo also explained in its official Q&A why 165Hz matters, saying that a higher refresh rate reduces jitter and makes movement smoother in shooter games, especially when you quickly aim or turn your view during intense gameplay.

According to the current information, the Lenovo Legion Y700 2026 mini tablet is expected to launch in March 2026, and if it really comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5, it could become one of the first flagship mini tablets of the year. Overall, the Legion Y700 is shaping up to be an exciting option for users who want a compact gaming tablet with a high refresh rate display, fast touch response, and flagship-level performance.
