Meizu 22 officially launching on September 15 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 0.8mm bezels

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4: A Safe but Disappointing Choice

This is where things get controversial. Many expected the Meizu 22 to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite to truly compete with the best flagships. Instead, leaks confirm that it will come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4—a solid processor, but not a flagship-grade one.

Here’s what the chip offers:

• 1 Prime + 7 performance core design with up to 3.21GHz clock speed

• ~1.9 million points in AnTuTu benchmarks

This performance comfortably beats the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and nearly matches the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, so it’s not weak by any means. But when you remember that the Meizu 21 had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the downgrade becomes obvious. For hardcore flagship fans, this feels like a missed opportunity.

Display: Small but Premium

The 6.3-inch flat display is more than just compact. It’s expected to feature:

• LTPO adaptive 120Hz refresh rate
• Ultrasonic fingerprint scanning
