MediaTek has officially confirmed via its Weibo account that a new member of its flagship Dimensity 9400 chipset lineup will be unveiled next week. Expected to be named the Dimensity 9400e, this SoC builds on the Dimensity 9300++ architecture, promising significant performance gains.
Leaked specifications suggest the 9400e features an octa-core setup with 4 Cortex-X4 super cores and 4 Cortex-A720 performance cores. In GPU performance benchmarks, it reportedly achieves around 95fps in the Aztec 1440p test, putting it ahead of Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is expected to debut this powerful new chip. It will sport a 6.77-inch LTPS display, a dual rear camera setup (50MP + 2MP), and a short-focus optical fingerprint sensor. The device is designed with a plastic mid-frame, optimized for users seeking a flat high-performance display, long battery life, and a value-oriented price tag.
In performance testing, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition reportedly scored an impressive 2,330,980 points on AnTuTu, placing it firmly in the flagship territory and showcasing the capabilities of the new Dimensity 9400e chip.
Following OnePlus, both Realme and vivo are also preparing to launch smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9400e. vivo is said to be working on a compact straight-screen device aimed at the mid-range market.
