ColorOS 16 Icon Design Finalized, OPPO Denies 3D Style

Lately, the tech community has been buzzing with rumors that OPPO ColorOS 16 will adopt a brand-new 3D glass stereoscopic design style. The images making rounds online caught a lot of attention, but OPPO’s ColorOS Design Director, Chen Xi, was quick to set the record straight.

According to Chen Xi, those viral images are nothing more than artistic concept renders meant to present certain operational ideas — they have no connection to the real ColorOS 16 interface. He further confirmed that the final icon design for ColorOS 16 has already been decided, and the online speculation simply isn’t accurate.

Chen Xi says the viral 3D ColorOS 16 image is just a concept, not the real interface.

This isn’t the first time Chen Xi has addressed such rumors. In earlier statements, he made it clear that ColorOS would not blindly imitate iOS — especially when it comes to third-party apps. Instead, OPPO’s design philosophy focuses on maintaining a balanced, high-quality, and stable user experience, rather than chasing trends that could compromise overall consistency.
