Huawei’s upcoming flagship devices are once again making headlines as fresh leaks reveal key details about the next-generation Mate and Pura series models.
According to a recent tip from a well-known tech blogger, the high-performance variant of the Mate 80 lineup — reportedly named the Huawei Mate 80 GTS — could introduce a major hardware upgrade. The device is said to feature the new Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, positioned as a more powerful iteration of Huawei’s in-house silicon.

More notably, the Huawei Mate 80 GTS may become the first Huawei smartphone to integrate a built-in micro cooling fan. Unlike traditional passive cooling systems, this active cooling solution is designed to better manage heat during intensive workloads such as high-end gaming, prolonged video recording, and heavy multitasking. If implemented effectively, it could significantly improve sustained performance and reduce thermal throttling, offering a more stable user experience.
Huawei Pura X2 Foldable Also Expected in March 2026
Alongside the Huawei Mate 80 GTS, new details have also surfaced regarding Huawei’s foldable roadmap. According to industry leaker “Internet Leaker Ge,” Huawei is preparing the second-generation wide foldable device, expected to be called the Huawei Pura X2.
The Pura X2 is rumored to be powered by the Kirin 9030 chipset and will reportedly debut with the upgraded Hongfeng Imaging 2.0 system, suggesting improvements in computational photography and overall camera processing.
Huawei is also expected to retain its distinctive 16:10 wide-screen design, but with a larger display size compared to its predecessor. Interestingly, the leak hints at a “more specs for the same price” strategy, indicating Huawei may aim to strengthen its competitiveness in the premium foldable segment.
The Pura X2 is reportedly scheduled for a global launch in March 2026.
Possible Dual Launch in March?
With the Pura X2 expected to debut next March, industry observers are speculating that the Mate 80 GTS could share a similar launch timeline. If Huawei chooses to unveil both devices together, it would create a strong flagship portfolio — combining a performance-focused smartphone with a productivity-oriented foldable to reinforce its position in the high-end market.
That said, Huawei has not officially confirmed the specifications, pricing, or release dates of either device. As always, the final details will be revealed at the official launch event.
