A fresh Geekbench 6.4.0 listing has revealed the benchmark scores of what appears to be the Snapdragon 8E Gen 2 for Galaxy (SM8850) powering the upcoming Samsung S26 Edge (model number SM-S947U). The device posted a single-core score of 3393 and a multi-core score of 11515, running on Android 16 with 10.84GB RAM.

Samsung S26 Edge Geekbench Score
According to the listing, the chipset features an octa-core CPU with:
- 2 Performance Cores @ 4.74GHz
- 6 Efficiency/Performance Cores @ 3.63GHz
The GPU is listed as Adreno 840, indicating this is a next-gen Adreno variant paired with Qualcomm’s latest architecture.
Interestingly, it seems the big core frequency did not hit its maximum potential during the benchmark run, topping out at 4.05GHz instead of the rated 4.74GHz. This suggests that the real-world score might be even higher when the CPU operates at full boost frequencies.

Potential Peak Performance
If the big cores were able to sustain their full 4.74GHz speed under optimal thermal and power conditions, we could expect:
- Single-core score to climb past 3500
- Multi-core score potentially reaching 11800–12000
This would put the Snapdragon 8E Gen 2 for Galaxy very close to, if not surpassing, the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 numbers, depending on optimization and cooling.

Why This Matters
The scores already place the Samsung S26 Edge among the top-performing Android smartphones to date, and the fact that these numbers come from an underclocked test makes them even more exciting. Qualcomm’s “for Galaxy” editions traditionally feature slightly higher clock speeds and better sustained performance than the standard versions, giving Samsung flagships an edge in raw power.
With the official launch of the S26 series still ahead, these early benchmarks hint at a strong leap in both CPU efficiency and GPU rendering power, potentially making it one of the fastest Android devices of 2025.
