Meizu 22 Design is now officially locked in! We’ve just stepped into the fourth day after the “Start of Autumn” solar term, and Meizu’s launch preparations are moving at a calm yet steady pace. The product launch location voting began last week, hinting that the official unveiling is likely to happen towards the end of this month.
On August 9, several well-known tech bloggers reported that real units of the Meizu 22 have started arriving at offline experience stores. However, due to strict confidentiality agreements, store staff are keeping quiet — though some locations appear to be getting a little impatient.
The next day, under a video showing the Meizu 22’s exterior rendering, the Meizu Anhui Hefei Yaohai Wanda Store left an intriguing comment: “There’s an element of the fruit!” This hint suggests that the brand’s old vertical, independent lens layout is gone. Combined with Meizu’s previously released “guess design model,” we can now be fairly certain the Meizu 22 will sport a rectangular camera module positioned at the top left.
According to official info, the Meizu 22 measures 71mm in width and weighs just 185g, making it an extremely comfortable small-screen flagship. It boasts the world’s narrowest 1.2mm symmetrical bezels on all sides, a flat display, and a stunning pure white front panel — rare in today’s smartphone market.

The phone features a 6.3-inch Samsung 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for reduced eye strain. Under the screen sits a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for fast, reliable unlocking.
While it packs the “previous generation flagship” Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition chipset, insiders say Meizu has tuned performance scheduling aggressively. Coupled with an ultra-large VC cooling plate, this setup should deliver excellent sustained performance during gaming or heavy multitasking.

The Meizu 22 houses a 5500mAh silicon-carbon negative battery, supporting 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Even though the battery capacity is moderate by 2025 standards, the charging speeds ensure minimal downtime.
For the first time, Meizu introduces a periscope telephoto on the 22 series. The triple rear camera setup includes:
- 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera
- 50MP ultra-wide camera
- 50MP periscope telephoto lens
This combination should offer versatility for wide landscapes, crisp zoom shots, and detailed everyday photography.
A new independent AI button is located on the side of the phone, providing instant access to large AI models. With one press, users can perform cross-app summaries, dictate voice notes, and more — a thoughtful addition for productivity and convenience.
